NOTES
ROOT SEA Music is strongly influenced by Roots Reggae combined with a heavy dub sound. The members consist of both friends / family with a genuine love, passion, and respect for the music.

The start of this album began with two friends, singer Joshua Shaw and bass guitar / producer Michael Stauch, feeling a spark of inspiration in the secluded mountains of Northern California in the fall of 2017. This is where the track 'My Story' was first recorded.

"At first, as I think many can relate, it originated as a much needed outlet during some stressful times", explains Joshua. "Music has always been a staple in my life, but recording was a new endeavor for me". In early Spring 2018, while in North Florida, they were again able to create and record music together. They soon realized the music was developing into something felicitously impactful that had real meaning to them both. "I have been writing, producing, and recording for as long as I can remember but this seemed somehow different. We were in actual agreement on a level that was refreshing," Michael states.

This creative collaboration became the debut album 'One Sea'. The first track 'Horizon' sends an environmental message regarding an end to further pollution of our oceans and waters from plastics. 'Give the Medicine' addresses the need for better access to medicinal Cannabis. 'Tribute to the Farmer' pays homage to the classic Peter Broggs tune 'International Farmer'.

The Album's nine tracks were written, recorded, and produced by Michael Stauch with lyrics and vocals by Joshua Shaw. (#6 Real Rock Riddim C. Dodd / Sound Dimension, Studio One, #8 P. Broggs / Dr Dread, #9 Fabric poem by: Erin Hanson)

Joshua's daughter, Kendall Brooke (Songbird) makes up the other half of the Root Sea vocal sound while Michael's son Noah contributes drum and percussion tracks. Friend of Root Sea, Chris Mons added to the sound with some crucial Ukulele on a few tracks as well as helping with some dub and production work!

Mastered by Mike Caplan at Lion & Fox Studios in Washington, D.C., ONE SEA serves as the groups debut to the music world. Find ROOT SEA and all Root Sea Music on all major digital outlets including iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify and more!
